THE QUOTES FROM THE HOME PAGE

As many of you have asked us for details of the quotes on the home page,
we have listed them here.
Enjoy!

If everyone made respect his religion,
what God would complain?"

Action is often threatened by untruth,
kindness by malice,
clarity by darkness,
intelligence by stupidity,
politics by sectarianism,
the essential by the insignificant...

It's a choice. What's yours?

Madness is to always behave the same way and expect a different result.

A human being remains a human being.
There is no superman.
That's why it's important to become the best human being possible.

Humanity's main scourge is not ignorance,
as the ignorant often have excuses,
it's the refusal to know.

All change seems very difficult,
but once it's taken place,
it's the way things were
which would be difficult to live through again.

A single person is powerless but united with lots of others at the right time, s/he  makes a difference

Goethe

There is no point in us getting to the moon if we come to lose the earth

Hope is not the conviction that something will succeed, it is the certainty that a particular action makes sense, whatever the outcome

The word “progress” is meaningless while there continues to be unhappy children

Truth must be offered to all, but as with the light of day, without ever being imposed.  Each conscience will open up to receive it fully in its own time.

To dream is good.
Only to dream is problematic.
At some point, you have to tell yourself the truth and see reality as it is.

Our society has linked its fate to a structure based on maximum consumption.
This condemns it to never-ending growth.
And to all the economic, financial, social, ecological and health problems we see more of today than yesterday and less of today than we’ll see tomorrow.
There is another way.
It is our movement’s project for a new society, which the government can begin tomorrow.

The world is a dangerous place!
Not so much because of those who do evil
but because of those who watch and do nothing.

Raymond, walking past a building site,
asks a worker who’s cutting a stone: what are you doing?”
“Earning a living” replies the man
He asks the question to a second worker,
who replies: “I’m cutting stones”
Finally, the third worker, to whom he asks the same question, says, resplendent:
“I’m building an edifice”...

“People...
Because they lose their health in order to accumulate money,
and then, lose money in order to regain their health.
And, thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present such that
they end up by not living either the present or the future.
They live as though they were never going to die...
And die as though they had never lived.”

The 14th Dalai Lama

We are not waiting for the last tree to be cut down,
the last fish to be caught, the last river to be poisoned,
the last acre to be turned into desert, the last competitor to be absorbed,
to realise that enlightened political action is necessary.

To work on oneself requires the acceptance of potential suffering.
To accept this potential suffering, requires faith.
Faith requires the acceptance of not knowing everything.
To accept not knowing everything requires letting go of controlling everything.
To let go of controlling everything requires work on oneself.

Today we are against everything, against the wind, against illness, against the cold, against the others.
The day we embrace the wind, illness, the cold, others. we will know peace and start to live again.

There is no point making speeches about how the boat will sink, what’s important is the drive, the enthusiasm even, with which those who fear neither to live nor to die, bail out the water, mend the breaches, even when the overflow is a large one

Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is important that you do it.

By acting on the environment in an uncontrolled fashion, human beings can damage their health, their relations with others, their professional life, the blossoming of their potential.

All change appears difficult, but once it’s taken place, it’s the way things were which looks difficult.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has dried up, the last fish been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

What gives beauty to our adventure is the impetus within us and the desire which carries us
